Belt Drive Loss

[ back to full computer program list ]

When you input the motor power output (BHP) the program then calculates the Percent of Drive Loss for three different belt efficiency levels (Low Belt Slip, Average Belt Slip and High Belt Slip)

This program handles motors from 0.30 horsepower to 600 horsepower

Example

1. Motor Power Output: 60.00 BHP
2. Belt Drive Loss
Percent Drive Loss Horsepower Lost Heat Generated
  a. Low Belt Slip: 2.5216% 1.5130 HP 3851.33 Btu/hr
  b. Average Belt Slip: 3.5917% 2.1550 HP 5383.71 Btu/hr
  c. High Belt Slip: 4.6173% 2.7704 HP 7051.03 Btu/hr
